      Dr Satterwhite is the Executive Director of The Japan-United States Educational Commission otherwise known as the Fulbright Program. Prior to his current position, he was overseeing Economist Corporate Network-Japan - The Economist Group's exclusive membership programme for senior managers in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. He came to Economist Conferences in 1997 from consultancy work facilitating Western clients' interests in Northeast Asian markets, and a decade-long academic career specialising in Asian politics and economic development issues. Raised in Kyoto followed by studies and professional employment in Tokyo, Dr Satterwhite has lived in Japan for 30 years.
