    In this part of interview, Tim Kirkwood joins us today to share with us his career path and how he started his business in Japan ten years ago. As the CEO of Kirkwood Capital Advisors, he tells us his business model and analyzes Japanese capital market. His company provides real estate services to investors focusing on the Japanese market.     Tim Kirkwood founded KCA in 2005. In the short period since its inception, he has built KCA into a leading resource for debt and equity placement in Japan. Mr. Kirkwood is primarily engaged in growing the company and its lender relationships, as well as originating and structuring transactions.

    Mr. Kirkwood has a proven track record delivering exceptional results in the real estate arena. Formerly, he was the Head of International Corporate Finance with Shinsei Bank, originating over $1 billion in debt supporting virtually every class of commercial asset and structured product. Prior to Shinsei, he was a Director at Deutsche Bank in Tokyo in DB¹s Global Credit Product Group and an original member of DB’s CMBS team. Prior to coming back to Japan, Mr. Kirkwood was based in Bangkok with SPO Partners, a San Francisco-based Private Equity Group and was with Wasserstein Perella in New York and Hong Kong in the mid-nineties.

    Mr. Kirkwood is a graduate of The University of Texas, is fluent in Japanese and currently resides in Tokyo with his wife and five children. He is active in a variety of industry associations and is a dedicated fly fisherman, golfer, skier, and tennis player.

Fluent in Japanese, Mr. Zengage has had an extensive career in public relations, investor relations, and strategy consulting in Japan, working on behalf of leading corporations and other organizations. Thomas R. Zengage was previously CEO and a principal shareholder of IBI Inc., Japan's pioneering investor relations and public relations agency. Mr. Zengage ultimately sold IBI to LSE traded WPP Group plc, and subsequently as Representative Director managed IBI's merger with Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. Thomas R. Zengage also served as Chairman & Representative Director of the Japan subsidiary of Edelman Public Relations, the world’s leading independent PR agency. He established a high level strategic communications consultancy, Pacific Communicators, to specialize in high level consultancy in public relations, public affairs, crisis and issues management, and key influencer engagement. Writing in Japanese, Mr. Zengage is the author of the book Sore Demo Yen No Seiki (Tokyo: Kodansha), which contains an analysis of the long term factors driving Japan's economy.
