Professor Xu Guanhua is academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Third World Academy of Sciences, Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, and International Academy of Astronautics. He also received honorary doctor degrees from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Maryland, and other institutions. Professor Xu is a Chinese pioneer in the science of remote sensing. Professor Xu was also former minister of Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Currently, Prof. Xu is taking the lead to promote the global change studies in China.
