Koichi Umemori

Koichi Umemori is a seasoned Human Resources executive with 20 years as Head of HR Departments. He is an alumnus of Dupont-Mitsui, The Chase Manhattan Bank, Chemical Bank, Societe Generale Securities, and Hudson Japan. His broad HR expertise has ranged from collective bargaining to employee relations, from training & assessment to compensation & benefits.

For the past 4 years he has been an independent Executive Human Resources Consultant to foreign subsidiaries in Japan and Japanese corporations alike. His firm is Updownsizing K.K.

He is a graduate of Aoyama Gakuin University where he has also contributed as of late as an Independent Lecturer on Management. Umemori-san has also completed various executive programs in HR through two of the most respected schools in HRM: Cornell University and University of Michigan. He is the author of many articles and books on the topic of HRM.

The Bridge Group handles searches for executives, managers, professionals, and specialists in all industries, but primary technology, consumer goods and banking.
    Resident in Japan for over 10 years, Kevin has been recruiting in Tokyo since 2002, preceded by a stint working for William Mercer HR Consulting in the area of compensation research. Previously, he was a client-side HR Manager in Japan focusing mainly on recruiting and training as well as employee communications.
    Kevin is a graduate of the University of Toronto, a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and obtained his credentials as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) in 2000.
